About Namma Metro

Namma Metro is operated by BMRCL and runs entirely within Bengaluru. Its largest line is the Purple Line with 37 stations, running from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Challaghatta.

It opened on 20 October 2011 with a six-station stretch of the Purple Line between Baiyappanahalli and Mahatma Gandhi Road. It carries about 916,000 riders a day as of 2026.
