The Green Line is Bengaluru's north–south corridor, opened on 1 March 2014 and extended north to Madavara on 7 November 2024. Its 32 stations run from Madavara in the north-west to Silk Institute in the south, taking roughly 60 minutes end to end — the shorter of the city's two long corridors. It is the only Namma Metro line with two interchanges: the Purple Line at Majestic and the Yellow Line at Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road, which makes it the usual way to cross between the other two.

The Green Line is a rapid transit metro line on the Namma Metro with 32 stations. It runs between Madavara and Silk Institute. Interchange Stations

The northern end runs through Madavara, Chikkabidarakallu and Manjunathanagara into the Peenya and Jalahalli industrial areas, then Yeshwanthpur, Srirampura and Mantri Square Sampige Road bring it to Majestic. South of the interchange the line passes under the dense old market district at Chickpete and Krishna Rajendra Market, then rises again through National College, Lalbagh and Jayanagar. Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road is the Yellow Line interchange. Beyond it the line continues through Banashankari, Jaya Prakash Nagar and Yelachenahalli out to Thalaghattapura and Silk Institute.

• The tightest service covers the central section between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli, where short-loop trains overlay the through service; the Madavara and Silk Institute ends see roughly every 8 to 11 minutes.
• This is the line to use for a Purple-to-Yellow journey: change at Majestic for Purple and Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road for Yellow.
• Chickpete serves the old market area, where walking is often faster than any road transport nearby.
• Fares rose steeply on 9 February 2025, by more than 100% on some routes before the increase was capped at 71%, making this the costliest metro in India. The chart here is BMRCL's own, effective 14 February 2025.
• Tickets are contactless tokens for a single journey, QR tickets, or a rechargeable smart card; the National Common Mobility Card is issued free at stations in exchange for an old Varshik card, and cards top up through the Namma Metro app, Paytm and Amazon Pay.
• Children under three feet tall travel free, with no age test applied.

First trains leave both terminals at 5:00 AM Monday to Saturday and at 7:00 AM on Sundays. The last train from Madavara is just before 11:00 PM and the last from Silk Institute at 11:05 PM. Trains come every 15 minutes as service opens, every 7 to 8 minutes through the middle of the day, and every 12 to 15 minutes at the end of service. Short-loop services from Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli overlay the central section at about 5 minutes.
