The Magenta Line connects Janakpuri (West Delhi) to Botanical Garden (Noida) via some of Delhi's most important south Delhi localities. It passes through the IGI Airport Terminal 1 area, the residential and institutional belt of Vasant Vihar and RK Puram, the popular Hauz Khas Village area, Panchsheel Park, Chirag Delhi, Greater Kailash, and the Okhla industrial area before crossing into Noida. The northern branch serves Rohini's western sectors.

• The Magenta Line is the best way to reach Terminal 1 of IGI Airport by metro (the Airport Express only stops at Terminal 3).
• If travelling from Noida to South Delhi, the Magenta Line via Botanical Garden is often faster than going via the Blue Line and interchanging.
• Hauz Khas interchange to Yellow Line is useful for reaching Gurugram.
