Rapid Metro is a 12.85 km light metro looping through Gurugram's office districts — Cyber City and the DLF phases in the north, Golf Course Road and the numbered sectors in the south — with 11 stations, all elevated. It is short, frequent and built around one job: feeding the Delhi Metro. Its single interchange is at Sikanderpur, where a 90-metre walkway connects to the Yellow Line. It was the world's first fully privately financed light metro, opening in two parts: the northern section on 14 November 2013 and the southern extension to Sector 55-56 on 31 March 2017. The private operator collapsed in 2019, after which Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ran the line; operations passed to the newly formed Gurugram Metro in 2024. It is owned by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation.

The northern half serves Gurugram's corporate core: Cyber City, Moulsari Avenue and the DLF Phase 2 and Phase 3 office clusters, plus Belvedere Towers. Sikanderpur, the midpoint, is the only connection to the Delhi Metro and sits on the edge of DLF Phase 1. South of it the line runs along Golf Course Road through Sector 42-43, Sector 53-54 and Sector 54 Chowk to Sector 55-56, covering the residential and commercial sectors of south Gurugram. The line does not reach Gurugram's older city centre, the railway station or Millennium City Centre — for those you need the Delhi Metro Yellow Line, which Rapid Metro meets at Sikanderpur.

• Sikanderpur is the only interchange, and it is a walkway between two separate stations rather than a cross-platform change — allow a few minutes.
• Delhi Metro tokens and smart cards work here, so you do not need a separate ticket, but Rapid Metro charges its own fare on top of the Delhi Metro one.
• Fares are flat rather than distance-based: ₹20 for most journeys, rising to ₹35 only between the northern end of the line and the southern end, and ₹25 on Sundays and holidays on those longer trips.
• North of DLF Phase 2 the track is a single-direction loop, so Cyber City, Moulsari Avenue and DLF Phase 3 are served one way round — check the platform before boarding rather than assuming you can go back the way you came.
• Trains every four minutes mean there is little value in timing your arrival; the last train leaves at 10:00 PM, which is earlier than the Delhi Metro, so plan the final leg of a late journey around Rapid Metro rather than the other way round.
• For Gurugram's old city, the railway station or Millennium City Centre, stay on the Delhi Metro Yellow Line past Sikanderpur instead of changing.
